The Chinese brand Maxus, which is part of SAIC, has unveiled a new flagship mobile home called Everest. The motorhome is built on the Hongyan platform. A similar architecture is used by the Genlion H6 truck. The main feature of the model was a two-story living area with a total area of 18 square meters, as well as a folding roof terrace. The minimum cost of the car, which is currently only available in the home market, starts at 2.9 million yuan.
On the ground floor of the motorhome there is a kitchen, a seating area and a bathroom. Upstairs is the living room, bedroom and fold down terrace. The basic equipment of the mobile home includes a water filtration and heating system, underfloor heating, air conditioning, as well as household appliances and an audio system. All electronics are powered by a 29 kilowatt-hour battery, which can be recharged by solar panels, charging stations or an internal combustion engine.
The Everest is powered by an 8.7-liter diesel engine, the output of which is 330 horsepower. Together with the unit, a six-speed “automatic” and an all-wheel drive system with three locks work.
In addition, the motorhome is available with two fuel tank options. In the first case, a gas tank with a capacity of 300 liters allows the car to drive up to a thousand kilometers. In a modification with a 600-liter tank, the maximum mileage of Everest will be two thousand kilometers.
At the request of the client, the motorhome can be supplemented with extended functionality, as well as individual interior decoration.
At the end of August, the Chinese company Great Wall introduced an all-terrain motorhome. The interior of the novelty is distinguished by a huge bed located above the driver’s cab.
